                                            The Coventry Charity Football Cup

Under the original name of the Coventry Nursing Cup, the Competition was founded in 1907 with a donation of a magnificent trophy given by the Coventry Nursing Trust, to combine the dual function of providing competitive football with the raising of money in aid of local charities.

The change of name to the Coventry Charity Cup was enforced by legislation involving the countries Health Service in the post war years.

The cup is believed to be the largest cup in the Coventry area, when mounted on the plinth it stands some 41 inches high and has the capacity of four and a half gallons of liquid refreshment to quench the winning team's thirst.
